Hi, I am Libb. That’s the surname I like to use online, you can call me David. I’m a 50-something 🇫🇷 🇪🇺 dude that tries to rethink his life around simpler and more sustainable values. I speak French but I try to write more in English, hopefully the content of the blog will reflect that wish.
On this blog,
- You will never see ads.
Ads are everywhere and they have ruined most of the Web. I want to do my humble part to preserve at least a very tiny bit of the idea of what the Web could have been had it not chosen to sell its body and soul to the advertising and marketing money. - There is no tracking and no telemetry.
A few years ago, I decided to get back some control over my own privacy. That is certainly not to spy on you. Who you are, where you are, what page you (don’t) read is none of my business—unless, that is, you want to tell me by contacting me, something you’re more than welcome to do. - There is nothing for sale.
I have nothing to sell, and I am not sponsored by anyone. It’s just random posts by some random dude. So, if and when I mention a product it is because I think it is worth mentioning it, not because I am getting paid to tell you about it. Which also means that I support all publishing and hosting costs by myself. - You will not get regular updates.
In fact, updates will be irregular as I want to spend as little time online as I can, it can be some time between the moment I write posts and day they are published.
To be informed of those irregular updates, you can subscribe to the RSS feed. RSS is one of those amazing features of that older Web that almost got killed by marketing money and corporate greed but it is not dead, not yet, and it’s up to us to keep using it.
My RSS feed only offers a summary of each post, I’m sorry for that but I wasn’t able to understand how to tell my website generator (Hugo) I wanted the feed to offer the entire post content. If you know how to do that, please let me know.
